Our story
Respect the earth. Protect our fellow man.
Why we built BetterWorld
Better World is the work of Liam and Tegan Hutchison — two Aussies from Western Australia who never planned on opening a store in rural America. Our journey began with humanitarian work, interviewing survivors of China’s labor camps to help tell their stories. The more we learned, the clearer one truth became: every purchase is a vote for the kind of world we want. So we built a store where living well — eating real food, knowing where your products come from, having access to honest health tools — isn’t a luxury. It’s the default.
Don’t just take our word for it — the Pike County Courier called us “a store with a soul.”
We built BetterWorld in Milford, Pennsylvania because we believe that communities deserve a place where the standard isn’t “good enough” — it’s genuinely good. Good for the people buying, good for the people making, and good for the land that makes all of it possible.
Our mission
“Respect the earth, and protect our fellow man.”
That’s it. Everything we do — every product we stock, every supplier we choose, every cup of coffee we pour — comes back to that. We go to great lengths to find products that genuinely do no harm and support good people, so you have the tools you need to move forward.
What “better” means to us
We don’t carry products just because they’re popular or profitable. Every item in our store has been evaluated against our standard: Is it made well? Does it support independent producers? Is it honest about what it is? Does it do what it claims? If the answer to any of those is no, it doesn’t make the shelf.

We’d love to hear from you — whether you have a question about a product, want to stock something we don’t carry, or just want to say hello.
